Home Gym Tour

Home Gym Tour

Right before Arnold weekend, Matt Vincent always stops by the house for a podcast and a dinner; this is our "once a year" catch up session which involves us telling the same stories and laughing at the same jokes.  This year we did something a little bit different;  I did a home gym tour with Matt. And the next day we got the news that the Arnold was cancelled. While the Arnold weekend was a total bust, I got to see Matt Vincent again.

The home gym video tour is below.  For those who don't want to take the video tour, I will list some of the equipment that I have accumulated over the past 10 years.  When I first started the gym I had a platform, bench press, Monolift and the 5/3/1 Squat Stand.  I got two Texas Bars and a some weight plates.  So what you see in the video (and in the equipment list) was not purchased at one time.  Start with the essential pieces (whatever those are to you), save your money and sharply discriminate what you purchase.  You have limited funds and space.

There are a lot of little odds and ends not listed on here (collars, chalk, etc.) but this list is the meat and potatoes of my home gym.  I know that a lot of people are thinking about setting up their home gyms, especially at this point in time. My two pieces of advice are:

1. Start small, be patient and save your money.

2. Buy nice, don't buy twice.
