Discipline Skull Pull Over Hoodie
One training principle gets more apparent every year I get older - and is confirmed more so when working with younger athletes. It is the principle of balance. This does not mean each area of physical readiness is given equal time or even equal importance. It means that every individual has to, AT THE VERY LEAST, address three very important areas of his training. These are strength, mobility/flexibility and conditioning.
How much time you spend on these three areas depends on your goals, your needs and even your level of interests. I sure as hell don't want to spend 2 hours/day stretching or doing Yoga. But leaving it out entirely is a recipe for disaster. Don't be afraid to push your body to extremes in one area; push your deadlift or squat to a ridiculous number! The world needs more people who push themselves to doing insane things. But remember the principle of balance; a small amount of work of conditioning and flexibility/mobility can go a long, long way in preserving your passion for strength.
