5/3/1 for Athletes - Article coming soon
Question: Hey Jim - when I was in the Army, a friend showed me your program after I'd been doing Rippetoe's Starting Strength for a while, and I really loved your program design and have used it for a while now. I recently got hired as a high school chemistry teacher and strength & conditioning coach, and I'm a little unsure of what to do for the S&C part. Do you have any thoughts on training high school athletes? Would you recommend 5/3/1? The only program I'm familiar with for high school athletes specifically is Bigger, Faster, Stronger - are you familiar with it? I realize answers to these questions could be quite extensive, and if you don't have the time to answer them fully, I understand. But I'd appreciate any input you have - even if its just "go read this book." Keep up the great work man, and thanks for an awesome program!
Answer: I just wrote an article for TNation on 5/3/1 for Athletes. It should be out this month and will answer all your questions. "Never out coach your intelligence."
